Family & Food! Stirfries, Chocolate Ganache Cake, & Raw Chocolate Cheesecake
I promised a re-cap, and here it is!
I believe I’ve mentioned before that Dallas has four sisters. Katrina lives in Nanaimo {where we live}; Tracey lives in Calgary; Tracey’s twin Elizabeth lives in Vienna, Austria; and Emma lives in Hawaii. Since Tracey was visiting for the week, and Elizabeth is here all month, we’ve had a great visit!
The three of them came over for dinner on Saturday, and it was actually my first time meeting Elizabeth. I made dinner, Tracey, brought the wine, and Katrina made a GORGEOUS ganache cake!! {Click here for the recipe}
So amazing! And she made it with carob, too! Yum yum!
Dinner was steamed broccoli & brown rice with creamy avocado sauce {sauce recipe from Oh She Glows}.
We ate, we drank, we laughed. It was a great evening! On Sunday we met up with them at Chapter’s for tea & to check out books. With their parents and Katrina’s boyfriend Ryan, we also went to Nori {our fave sushi place} for dinner. I thought about bringing the DSLR to take pictures, but…I’m sure most of you can appreciate not wanting to be the dork who whips out a massive camera at a family dinner to take photos of sushi ;) But it was delicious! As always.
Anyhoo, Thursday was the birthday dinner night! The twins’ birthday isn’t until the 27th, but we celebrated early. Dinner was at their parents’ place, and I brought a chocolate chip swirl cheesecake {gluten-free, raw, vegan}.
Mmmmm one of my fave desserts <3 {Click here for the recipe}
For dinner, I helped make the veggie stirfry {with garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, soy sauce, salt}. And some fries on the side! ;)
Even Chanel was dressed for dinner! {Animal lovers: I promise this dog LOVES her dresses!}
Tracey is gone home now, and Elizabeth is here for another week. It was a short visit with everyone, but an amazing one
Trips to Calgary & Austria in the near future? I think so!
I hope the rest of you are enjoying your week! I have more recipes coming, I promise!
peace, love, family <3
Char, xo

I definitely feel very lucky! It’s so awesome to have even more sisters!
You went to Vienna?!?! I’ve never been anywhere in Europe, but I’m dying to go!
That cake! That cheesecake! Your killing me. We have friends visiting from back East for the week, and it’s so nice! Perhaps I will attempt a gf cake…
Enjoy the rest of your visit with his sisters
The cheesecake is gluten-free! And so amazing <3

weeeeeeeow! that raw chocolate swirl cheesecake looks incredible!! did you make it??
yesss, I did!
there’s a link back to the recipe. I’ve only made it once before because it’s quite expensive to make, but soooo easy! And it’s a perfect treat to share with friends & family!
Awwww how fun!! I love dinner parties! We rarely have people over, I feel our place is pretty small, but when we move {shortly fingers crossed!} we’ll be having parties like this!!!
Gorgeous food my friend!
xxoo
haha, we don’t even have a dining room, but someday we will! ’til then, our coffee table makes a fabulous kitchen table ;) xo
What a great weekend! And holy moley, I can’t decide between the chocolate cheesecake and the chocolate ganache cake, they both look so amazing. So I choose both ;).
it’s impossible to decide between them- they’re not even comparable when it comes to taste & texture. I definitely recommend both ;)
