{GUEST POST} Naturally Sweet Recipes featuring Creamy Peanut Butter Chocolate Pudding!

Posted on June 21, 2012
Hello foodies! As I frantically prepare hundreds of Char Stars for Victoria Vegan Fest, work my three wonderful jobs, and scramble to finish biology in time, I have been living off of oatmeal, fruit, and cans of Amy’s soup. Not too much excitement happening in my kitchen, so I asked Annie, one of the lovely sisters from Naturally Sweet Recipes, to share a little bit about herself, along with one of her favourite vegan recipes. The blog Annie shares with sisters Holly & Chelsea has long been one of my favourites. It’s always full of delicious, healthy desserts that are sure to please even the pickiest of eaters, and I truly hope you’ll all check it out. I know you’ll adore these ladies as much as I do! Take it away, Annie! <3

Hello Char’s Kitchen Readers!

This is Annie, from Naturally Sweet Recipes and I am so happy to be guest posting for Char today! I share my blog with my two sisters, Holly and Chelsea. We have been blogging for a year now and have really enjoyed getting to know so many amazing bloggers! We love Char’s blog for her love of food, her dedication to a vegan lifestyle and her amazing example of healthy living!

At naturally sweet recipes, we share some of these same principles. We have a love for all natural foods and try to live a healthy lifestyle. Although our blog is not strictly vegan, we do love many, many vegan foods and try to focus our eating on all natural and healthy ingredients. Aside from eating as healthy possible, my sisters and I have a major sweet tooth! When we were growing up, we ate lots of sweet foods and loved any and all desserts! But with this kind of eating, we also suffered from different health and skin problems. In an effort to feel better and figure out what was making us not feel well, we began investigating other diets and foods. Of course, we didn’t want to give up the treats for a healthy lifestyle, so this led us to look into more natural sugars and sweeteners. After finding so many new ingredients, that were both tasty and healthy, we changed our diets and have felt an incredible difference in how we feel physically and emotionally ever since. We knew a healthy diet was something we didn’t want to give up, but further more, something that could still include delicious treats and goodies! Today, we are happy to know of lots of healthy alternatives to regular white sugar and love sharing what we have learned. Our blog is a collection of some traditional and not so traditional desserts recipes, but that are all naturally sweet!

Now that you know how much we love natural desserts, we’d like to share one of our favorite healthier treats that is never suspected as being healthy!

Peanut butter chocolate pudding is one of our favorite desserts!

This recipe isn’t only vegan- but’s it’s super easy to throw together and tastes so rich and decadent! It requires zero cooking (so it’s raw!) and like all of our recipes, made without white refined sugar. Using natural sweeteners really enhances the flavors of this pudding and contributes to it’s extra creamy texture. Hope you enjoy it!

Recipe type: dessert
Author: Annie @ Naturally Sweet Recipes
Serves 2-3 (if you can manage to share!)
Ingredients
  • 1 Large Ripe Avocado
  • 1/3 cup Natural Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1/3 cup Agave
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1/4 cup Almond Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • Dash of Pink Salt
  • Optional: Liquid Stevia to taste
Instructions
  1. In a food processor or with a hand mixer, combine the ripe avocado and peanut butter until very smooth. Add the agave and mix well. Add the almond milk and cocoa powder. You can add a bit more almond milk or cocoa powder to reach your desired consistency. Mix until smooth. Add vanilla, salt and stevia, if desired. The peanut butter makes this pudding a little less sweet and a bit more rich than our other chocolate pudding recipe. If you have a strong sweet tooth, I recommend adding a couple drops. Continue mixing the pudding until all ingredients are well combined and you have a perfectly creamy pudding. Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes or enjoy immediately!

Thank you for letting me guest post today! Hope you enjoy our recipe and please stop by our blog anytime! We love meeting new bloggers and readers!
